Sharks Steal a Point Late

On the last day of the year, the San Jose Sharks put together a solid effort against the very hard-working Minnesota Wild. In fact, Team Teal launched 34 shots on net...one of the higher totals in recent weeks. Unfortunately, Team Teal fell short in overtime.

Nabokov Sharp in Dallas

After losing to the worst team in the Western Conference, the San Jose Sharks took on their division rivals in what turned out to be a very competitive match. Thanks to a strong performance from Evgeni Nabokov and some timely goal scoring, Team Teal was able to take two points from the Dallas Stars.

Sharks Struggle After Break

I know that some may think it weird to say that the San Jose Sharks struggled against the St. Louis Blues when they were able to skate away with a point in a shootout loss Saturday. However, if you watched the game, you understand what I'm talking about. For the majority of the game, Team Teal just couldn't get anything going. They didn't look sharp, comfortable, or ready to play. In fact, San Jose found themselves down a goal within the first 26 seconds of the game as the Blues' first shot on goal beat Evgeni Nabokov.

San Jose Gives Fans an Early Christmas Gift

After getting beat up by the Detroit Red Wings, the San Jose Sharks had two opportunities to get back on track before Christmas. Well, Team Teal barely took care of business against the New York Rangers on Saturday, but on Tuesday night, the boys in teal put on a pretty good show for the home crowd. Thanks to a few days off and some solid practice time, Coach Todd McLellan was able to get his team running smoothly once again.

San Jose Grinds Out a Win Against the Rangers

Well, it wasn't easy, it wasn't pretty, but the San Jose Sharks got back to their winning ways and defeated the New York Rangers Saturday night by a score of 3 - 2. Though Team Teal got off to a great start, I've got to say that I didn't feel comfortable until the final horn blew. In fact, there were stretches throughout the night where I was holding my breath as the Sharks really had to scramble in their own zone a few times. Fortunately, San Jose dug down deep and found the energy to skate away with a very important victory.

Detroit Makes Nabokov Look Like Swiss Cheese

Well, I think it's safe to say that the Detroit Red Wings are still the team to beat in the NHL. Yes...the San Jose Sharks have more points. Yes...Team Teal beat them once this season. Yes...San Jose was playing its 3rd game in four nights. All these things are true, but it's tough to call ourselves the "best team in the NHL" after getting whipped by a score of 6 - 0. On a night when a single goal would have been sufficient, the Red Wings put up two field goals on only 28 shots. Brutal.

Another Hot Goalie Adds a Loss to San Jose's Record

It was only 13 days ago when the San Jose Sharks somehow beat the Columbus Blue Jackets after being outplayed for most of the game. Well, this time around...things were different. Tonight, Team Teal ran into Steve Mason of the Columbus Blue Jackets...more specifically, they ran into a wall that was able to stop 47 out of 48 shots.

Clowe Scoring Goals Again

Well, there were a few games there where Ryane Clowe was putting up assists instead of goals. However, after last night's game, it looks like Number 29 is back to his old self...putting rubber into the back of the net.

Takes Five Goals to Beat Blues

On a night when Evgeni Nabokov looked average, the San Jose Sharks defeated the St. Louis Blues with their offensive prowess. However, with that said, Team Teal wouldn't have skated away with the two points if it weren't for their defensive performances while on the penalty kill. Thanks to their success on special teams tonight, San Jose remains unbeaten in regulation at home.

Sharks Show that They're Ready to Own the Pacific

On Thursday night, the San Jose Sharks took to the ice after a relatively long break and battled their division rivals from Anaheim. The Ducks have been playing well so far this season and Team Teal knew coming in that this game would be a hard fought one. Fortunately, San Jose was well rested because there was a lot more action out there beyond the skating, passing, and shooting.

Roloson Ends Sharks Winning Streak

Well, it took an amazing performance from Dwayne Roloson and a lucky bounce in overtime, but the San Jose Sharks' nine game winning streak is now over. They played much better tonight compared to how they performed against Columbus, but this time Team Teal only skated away with one point instead of two.

Sharks Outplayed by Blue Jackets, but Still Win

The Columbus Blue Jackets came into San Jose with a lot of confidence as they've won two games in a row and were looking for a third consecutive victory. This desire was evident in the first period where the Blue Jackets simply dominated the San Jose Sharks. It was a weird site to see...out boys in teal were chasing the puck, losing the battles along the boards, and getting outshot. But thanks to Evgeni Nabokov and a number of Columbus penalties, Team Teal performed just well enough to skate away with the two points. To be honest, we should have loss the game given the way we played, but I guess that's what makes good teams great...finding a way to win no matter what.

Vote for Your San Jose Sharks All-Stars...Often

With the NHL All-Star game coming up, NHL.com has been tracking the votes online for this season's potential starters. As of today, the Sharks' representatives are far behind the leaders which is simply unacceptable. From the looks of it, the fans from Detroit, Calgary, and Chicago are out-voting the fans from San Jose. With the way voting is set up, it is very easy to vote for your Sharks...not just once, but multiple times.

Big Day in San Jose

On Tuesday night, the San Jose Sharks defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs by a score of 5 - 2. The win was highlighted by three major occurrences: 1) San Jose breaking a 65 year old NHL record; 2) Ron Wilson returns to the Tank; 3) Joe Thornton celebrates his 3 year anniversary in San Jose. With all of these scenarios in place, it made for a special win and a great start to December.
