Coach Ron Wilson not worried

After reading today's San Jose Sharks article in the Mercury News, I had to laugh. Actually, it was more of a scoff than anything else. Regarding the recent slump, Wilson said:

"I'd be scared if we were getting outplayed and out-competed, but that's not the case."

I understand that the team is still trying to find its chemistry given the recent trades, but to dismiss a four game losing streak would be a mistake. Team Teal's effort is there and it's led to a number of very exciting games; the Sharks have definitely been competing. However, I cannot bring myself to believe that the team is not being "outplayed". The simple fact that the team hasn't won a game in the last four contests is the definition of being outplayed.

So I guess I'm saying that Coach Wilson is only half wrong and maybe only deserving of half a scoff. At any rate, a four game losing streak should be taken seriously during any portion of the season, regardless of the circumstances. During the playoffs, every aspect of the game is more intense and a four game losing streak doesn't mean a slump...it means an early summer vacation.
