Game Ones Do Not Disappoint
Just as I expected, there were a ton of Google Alerts in my inbox this morning. Hockey fans clearly appreciate last night's game between the San Jose Sharks and the Nashville Predators. From news articles to blog posts, the hockey world is buzzing about this series. In fact, on NHL.com, Patrick Rissmiller is featured as the #2 star of the night (see below) and Evgeni Nabokov is pictured in today's Frozen Moment.

Results from other Game Ones
Penguins vs. Senators (Series: 0 - 1 OTT)
The Ottawa Senators beat the Pittsburgh Penguins last night by a score of 6 - 3. At one point in the third period, Ottawa led the Penguins by five goals. However, with last minute efforts from Gonchar and Crosby, the Pens made the final score a little closer.
Stars vs. Canucks (Series: 0 - 1 VAN)
The Western Conference is clearly a lot tighter than the East as Dallas and Vancouver also went to overtime. With a goal coming off of the stick of the Canucks' Henrik Sedin, Vancouver won the game with a final score of 4 - 5.
Wild vs. Ducks (Series: 0 - 1 ANA)
Though the game was close nearly the entire time, the Anaheim Ducks were able to pull away with the victory. Thanks to goals from Selanne and Penner, the contest ended with a final score of 1 - 2.

I for one am TERRIBLY disappointed. Losing Cheechoo to a knee injury for the rest of the race for the cup could be devastating!
