Shark Byte Episode #1 - 2007/2008
Drew Remenda Returns
The other night, Fox Sports Net Bay Area aired the very first episode of Shark Byte signaling that the 2007-2008 season is nearly upon us. As I've mentioned in the past, I don't always agree with Remenda's color commentary during Sharks games, but I have to admit that Shark Byte hasn't been the same since he left, and I'm glad he's back.
Unfortunately, I haven't been to any practices or preseason games this year. As a result, I was extremely excited to watch Shark Byte and see the boys in teal take to the ice. I hate to say it, but the more I see the new jerseys on the ice, the more I like them.
It was really cool seeing JR in teal, along with the younger guys as well. I've never seen Devin Setoguchi skate, but the kid looks solid. There was one video clip that caught my attention where he powered towards the net with a defender draped over his back. He didn't score, but if we can expect more plays like that, then Devin might be the one to crack the lineup this year.
Overall, it was nice to see the Sharks on TV again. Remenda did a good job of interviewing the players, which is no surprise as guys in the locker room seem to accept him as one of their own. Unfortunately, Drew didn't hit the ice or do anything out of the ordinary for his return, but hey...it's early in the season and I assume he has to get his legs back as well.

Great having Drew on the show again but, I have to say, I miss Amy Gutierrez (last year's host). Was hoping they'd find a way to keep both in this year's broadcast.
