Marcel Goc's Blog

Marcel releases his 2nd post

Great. The last thing I need is another blog about the San Jose Sharks to serve as competition. In the blogosphere, there are only so many eyeballs out there that are willing to read your stuff, and now I have to compete with a blog written by an actual player?! Just not fair.

This season, San Jose Sharks center, Marcel Goc will be posting his thoughts on the team's official website. As a fellow Sharks blogger, I feel compelled to give an honest, unbiased review of Marcel's work.

Length of Posts
Number 11 does a decent job of limiting the lengths of his posts. They're not too short, nor too long. There's enough text on there to get me interested, but not so much that it leaves me bored. Like a professional, Marcel gives me a taste of his ability (with a keyboard, not a hockey stick) and leaves me wanting more.

Content
Hearing about what Goc does on an average day is very cool. I can imagine him chilling out with Christian Ehrhoff, going to the movies, grabbing dinner, talking hockey, or whatever else professional athletes do on the road.

He even took a moment to talk about how he coped with the embarrassing loss to Colorado, and I applaude the effort. After getting beaten like that, the last thing on my mind would be to update my blog. Marcel, you're a better man than me.

Style
This is where I think I own Goc. I'm not an amazing writer...I know that. However, I like to think that I can hold my own. As for Marcel, he is more of a "stream of consciousness" type of writer. Regardless of what he was just talking about, Number 11 is confident enough to jump to the very next topic without any type of transition. Bold Marcel, very bold.

If you haven't realized by now, I'm kidding. I'm not seriously critiquing Marcel's blog posts. In fact, I think Goc does an excellent job. It's a pretty cool idea...I really do like hearing about the day-to-day life of a hockey player. Moreover, it's probably tough for Marcel to make time for a new post every so often...I know that sometimes I feel that there aren't enough hours in the day to get one done.

Well Marcel, I wish you luck in both the hockey world and the blogosphere. I envy the size of your audience, but beware...SanJoseSharksBlog.com is an up-and-comer!
