Ryane Clowe Will Miss Some Time
Injured knee puts tough winger out of commission
On October 27th, Ryane Clowe injured his knee in a loss against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The extent of the injury was unknown for a while; in fact, even recent reports state that his ACL is "damaged" which doesn't really clear things up. However, one thing is for sure, Number 29 will be out for a while.
According to David Pollak's post, on the San Jose Mercury News' Sharks Blog, Team Teal has been researching both surgical and non-surgical options. Unfortunately, it appears that surgery is the best route to take. Supposedly, the surgery may have happened as early as yesterday, but I have yet to hear or see any reports. Regardless, Clowe will need months of rehabilitation before stepping back onto the ice.
It is very unfortunate that San Jose will be without the services of the tough winger as he brings size, grit, and scoring to the table. This year was going to be an opportunity for Clowe to breakout and really turn some heads in the NHL, but that will need to be put on hold.
