Sharks Lose in a Big Way

Sharks 1, Sabres 7

Hmmm...maybe we should keep the current NHL schedule guidelines and only play the Buffalo Sabres once every two years. That way, we wouldn't have to be embarrassed again for a long time. After gathering six out of six points on the road, the San Jose Sharks came home and lost...big time.

I can't say that anyone is surprised. Team Teal's home record has been absolutely terrible which is very unfair to the loyal fans that support them. One would think that San Jose would be extra motivated to win at home after having Los Angeles Kings Coach Marc Crawford state that he was "comfortable" playing HP Pavilion. Instead, they get blown out.

I'm not going to lie...it's embarrassing. I'm happy that we're still tied for first in the Pacific, and that we are a great road team, but give me a break. At 4-6-0-2, our home record is pitiful. We are tied with the Washington Capitals in terms of least home wins, and the Caps are currently the worst team in the NHL. What does that tell you?

I think that it is especially frustrating to lose to the Sabres when they are, at best, a .500 team...moreover, currently last in their division. Oh, and I shouldn't forget to mention that this team just gave away two points to both the Ducks and the Kings last Wednesday and Thursday...weaksauce.

At any rate, the Sharks better learn how to win at home because six of the next seven games are at HP Pavilion. More importantly, the Pacific Division is starting to get crowded at the top and losing games in hand won't help at all.
