Nabby...What was that?

Sharks 4, Flames 5

On Wednesday night, the San Jose Sharks lost to the Calgary Flames by only one goal. Though almost everyone on Team Teal was at fault for letting in five goals, one player in particular sticks out to me...Nabokov. Number 20 has simply been amazing this year; especially this past All-star weekend, but last night, he looked bad. Loose pucks, big rebounds, and one big give-away...handing over the puck to Owen Nolan and allowing him to score what was basically an empty netter.

Nabby continues to look sharp in net.  First, he shut-out the East All-Stars during his twenty minutes of play in the NHL All Star game.  Then last night, in front of a national audience on the Versus Channel, he stopped all thirteen shots he faced in the win against the Edmonton Oilers.  It was his sixth shut-out of the season.  Nabby gave a lot of credit to how the team played in front of him.  But with Garon’s strong play at the other end, and one or two bad bounces, the result could have been different.  With our recent history at Rexall Place, the Sharks probably needed the shut-out to prevent the Oilers and their fans from getting into the game.

Look For Strong Second Half

Consistency is needed

The mad scrambles to the mall, the numerous holiday gatherings, and then the eventual Holiday Season Hangover...when it just feels like torture to go back to work. Granted, these are weak excuses, but they're true. Along with many other things, blogging fell by the wayside for me, but it is time for a comeback. For me...and the San Jose Sharks.
